The Audiovisual and Digital Projects Area, dependant on the Government of Navarra’s Directorate-General for Culture, calls for applications for the Generazinema grants every year: five lines of grants, funded through an open and competitive process, which aim to promote projects based in Navarra and to cover the entire audiovisual value chain.

The funding subsidises the development, production and promotion phases of audiovisual productions, as well as the organisation of film festivals and programming in cinemas.

The Generazinema grants are part of the Spanish regions’ remit in establishing their own promotional initiatives, in accordance with their own regulations, and which complement the state initiatives.

Such measures of promotion and encouragement are considered to have an impact on the cultural and economic enrichment of the Chartered Community of Navarra, complementing the indirect aid that this community has established through its tax regulations.

The annual participation of projects demonstrates the vitality and diversity of the film industry in Navarra, as well as the professionalism of a sector that is highly committed to a field of extraordinary richness and complexity. The film and audiovisual activity is a strategic sector within our culture and our economy; it is an element in the construction of identity and cohesion in the region; it shows off our landscapes, our cities, our tangible and intangible heritage and has also become an incentive for tourism. That is why, in Navarra, we nurture our cinema.

Independent production companies including AIEs established in Spain and registered in the Registry of Film and Audiovisual Companies of the ICAA.

• Category A: Funding for the development of fiction or creative documentary projects.

• Category B:Funding for the development of animation projects.

Includes aid for the production of individual or serial animation projects, carried out between November 1st, 2022 and 30th September, 2025.

Intended for: Independent production companies, including AIEs established in Spain and registered in the Registry of Film and Audiovisual Companies of the ICAA.

Category A.1 Feature films budget > 500,000€: 480,000€
Category B.2 Animated short films: 99,251.56€
Category A.2 Feature films budget < 500,000€: 220,000€
Category C Animated pilot episodes of a series: 150,000€

Generazinema
promotion

Includes aid for the promotion and dissemination of animated audiovisual works from the audiovisual professional sector in Navarra, developed between November 1st, 2022 and October 31st, 2023.

Individualized evaluation regime.

Modalities:

(A) Promotional actions in the run-up to the Goya Awards 2023: 15,000€
(B) Participation in festivals with prior invitation: 15,000€

Generazinema
festivals

Funding for the organisation of film festivals and contests held in Navarra. Film festivals and contests must be of both cultural or artistic nature and content. They must have been held for at least two previous editions.

Generazinema
exhibition

Funding for cinemas to create film programmes of cultural interest. This funding has two categories: for privately-owned cinemas and for cinemas belonging to local entities.
