    • SYNOPSIS Lola and Juanjo are a tireless couple of historians from San Sebastian. They have spent their entire lives letting the public know the secrets of San Sebastian's recent history. On one occasion, while conducting research on old villas in the city, they were approached by a friend who knew a friend who had many old photographs, among many others of San Sebastian. Lola and Juanjo did not pay special attention to it, thinking that, as usual, in this case they would also be photos of little value. A month later, they met again with his friend and he was still determined that they should see those photos. Lola and Juanjo had to go to see the photos due to an engagement, and not exactly next to home... they were in Tafalla! They took the road without much faith in the photographs, they were convinced that the trip would be in vain. In Tafalla, the appointment was with Joaquín Ignacio Mencos, and to their surprise, Joaquín took them to the most famous palace of Tafalla: the Palace of MENCOS (Joaquín is the Marquis of Royal Defense of Spain). In this wonderful palace, Joaquín took them to the room where there were some wooden boxes. He told the couple that he had only seen a small sample of a huge collection of photographs that were in crystals. They were photographs taken by José Brunet Birmingham, his great-great-grandfather. More than 2000 photographs in total. As soon as they heard that the photographs were on the glass, Lola and Juanjo were immediately interested: photographs taken in this format had to be from the 19th or early 20th century. After speaking with several experts, they confirmed that these photographs were of enormous value because, in addition to being witnesses to the transformation of a society, they were taken in an innovative style. Suddenly, Lola has an idea: how would the same places and situations look almost 150 years later using the same cameras and photographic techniques? To learn more about the photographic techniques and processes of the time, they will call on the best photographers and experts throughout Europe. After a long investigation, Lola and Juanjo will try to reconstruct, 150 years later, the photographs that José Brunet took, with the same technique and style of that time but updated to current times. we will witness the evolution of the landscape and society in these years.
